Marlborough District Council covers all the Marlborough region.
All councils are required to review their representation arrangements (number of councillors, how they are elected etc.) at least every six years.
Marlborough District Council reviewed its representation arrangements prior to the 2016 local authority elections.
As a result of appeals/objections/referral of proposals not complying with fair representation requirements, the Local Government Commission was required to determine the Marlborough District Council’s final proposal.
The council is required to undertake a further review of its representation arrangements prior to the 2022 local authority elections.
Local government reorganisation
The Local Government Commission is currently not considering any reorganisation initiatives or investigation requests relating to the region.
